Located about 1,000 kilometers off the eastern peninsular coast of India, Red Skin Island in the Bay of Bengal attracts all sorts of visitors. Of the many beautiful islands to visit in this archipelago, this one is the busiest. The island is located in the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, in the village of Wandoor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. As stated earlier, Red Skin Island is one of 15 islands locked inside Mahatma Gandhi National Park. The park is located 30 kilometers from the capital, Port Blair, on the southwest coast of the archipelago. To travel to the island, one must obtain a permit from the forest authority one day before the scheduled visit. The island remains closed on Mondays and is only accessible to tourists between May and October. On average, the island remains open 6 months a year, during which overnight stays prohibited at all costs. Red Skin Island is a day trip and therefore has plenty of activities for visitors.
